I am a retired educator with over 30 years of experience in Massachusetts public schools. I also own a small Massachusetts business with my family and have four adult children, and 6 grandkids, all living, learning and working in Massachusetts.

As some of my grandchildren start to approach college age, my children find they are still buried in student debt from financing their own educations. This is a devastating situation for a young family.

As an educator, I have seen the way local communities struggle to meet the requirements of funding mandates and retaining quality staff with dwindling state support. This is, also, an untenable situation.

As a small business owner that depends on tourism, I have seen the impact of an underfunded and outdated transportation system on our economy. We must do better!

The Fair Share Amendment is a fair and equitable way to ask those who benefit the most from our economy to do their share to help keep our state on a prosperous path.
